- Anatomically accurate human phantom models were employed.
- 60 thermoluminescent dosimeters (TLDs) were embedded throughout the bone marrow cavities of the pelvis for precise recording of attenuation at each point.
- One phantom was equipped with the StemRad 360 Gamma, whereas the other served as an unprotected control.
- Phantoms were then subjected to irradiation with a Cs-137 (0.662 Mev) source.
Fallout Recreation: Cloud Source Cs-137 Irradiation
To create a realistic fallout setting, the source was shifted in relation to the phantoms, to three discreet positions along the Z-axis while the phantoms themselves were rotated to four discreet positions along the X-Y plane.
