Dr. Waterman joined StemRad in 2014 as a research scientist. In November 2016 Gideon was appointed CTO of StemRad.
Dr. Waterman joined StemRad in 2014 as a research scientist. In November 2016 Gideon was appointed CTO of StemRad. Since then he has been leading product development and testing using simulation and experimental techniques and collaborating with various laboratories across the world in those efforts. He received his B.Sc. in Biochemistry from the University of Missouri, Columbia in 2007 and a M.Sc. in Nuclear Engineering in 2011. Dr. Waterman has recently defended his dissertation on the topic of StemRad’s novel personal radiation shielding strategies and received his Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Missouri. He has over 10 years of research experience across multiple fields including x-ray crystallography, microbiological analysis, direct energy conversion, semi-conductor fabrication, neutron and gamma spectroscopy as well as advanced reactor design. He is also an experienced user of computational modeling codes and statistical analysis. His published research includes work as assistant editor of Risk Management for Tomorrow’s Challenges sponsored by the American Nuclear Society‚ Nuclear Installation Safety Division.
